Atammik

Atammik is located only 2 hours north of Nuuk (~80km south of Maniitsoq) near the southern border of the Arctic Circle region. The fjord system and open sea is integral to the survival of this small fishing community of 190 people who continue to follow a more traditional lifestyle.

Few tourists stay here, though the landscape around the settlement is more gentle than elsewhere in the region and offers plenty of opportunities for experienced backcountry hikers.
